Sorbon Estates is delighted to have been named Commercial Landlord of the Year at the Thames Valley Property Awards 2026, retaining the title for the second consecutive year.
The award recognises commercial landlords that demonstrate outstanding tenant support, enhance property value and contribute to the vibrancy of the Thames Valley’s commercial environment.
Based in Beaconsfield, Sorbon Estates owns and manages a diverse portfolio across Maidenhead, Marlow, Reading, Amersham, Henley, Windsor and Beaconsfield. As a long-term landlord, we are committed to creating vibrant, sustainable places that support occupiers, strengthen local economies and enhance their surrounding communities.
Supporting our occupiers
Strong occupier relationships are at the heart of our approach. Our in-house estate management team works closely with businesses to understand their needs and provide practical, responsive support, including complimentary PR assistance for new occupiers.
During the award period, we also launched Sorbon Flex, providing businesses with the professionalism of a leased office together with greater flexibility, streamlined agreements and clear, predictable costs.
Investing in places and communities
A key highlight was the continued success of Waterside Quarter in Maidenhead. Its carefully curated mix of national operators and independent businesses, supported by community events and destination marketing, has helped establish it as one of the town’s leading dining destinations.
We also progressed the transformation of One Ludlow in Maidenhead into premium Grade A office accommodation. The refurbishment includes a new double-height reception, additional office space and improved occupier amenities, and has achieved an EPC A rating.
Elsewhere, construction progressed on a purpose-built JD Gyms facility at Reading Link Retail Park, while the former Wilko and Poundland premises at 88–90 High Street in Maidenhead were converted into three retail units, all of which are now fully let.
Planning consent was also secured for a major mixed-use regeneration scheme in Maidenhead town centre. The development will transform underutilised brownfield land, deliver 145 new apartments and retain and enhance the existing High Street retail frontage.
A team achievement
Winning this award for a second consecutive year reflects the dedication of colleagues across estate management, finance, maintenance, projects and acquisitions.
Together, our team works to create the best possible commercial spaces for our occupiers while investing in the long-term future of the towns and communities in which we operate.
We would like to thank every member of the Sorbon Estates team, as well as our occupiers, partners, suppliers and community stakeholders, for helping to make this achievement possible.
