We are constantly growing our portfolio of moorings in the South East of England, particularly in the Thames Valley and London. We already have locations in Oxfordshire, Middlesex, Surrey, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire, located on the River Thames and the Grand Union Canal.

These are prime locations for high quality moorings, situated in buzzing marinas, with their own mixes of bars, town centres and shops nearby. And as they’re on some of the most navigable waterways in the UK, you’re ready to cast off and explore far and wide. That said, for many tenants, it’s simply home, or a floating office or entertainment space.

We make sure the area is properly managed, promptly and professionally attending to any issues that arise.

Do you own the moorings?

Yes, as property investors, developers and managers, the moorings are under our ownership, just like all the other properties in our portfolio.

Are you responsible for the moorings’ upkeep?

Yes, we are responsible for ensuring the moorings are safe, well maintained and that the relevant services detailed in the contract are accessible.

What is included in the charges?

This will vary from marina to marina, so it’s best to examine the contract for a given location. If the details of your contract is more important than the location, just ask us for a list of stipulations so we can find the perfect spot for you.

What rules do tenants have to adhere to?

Marinas each have their own rules about hours of access, amount of acceptable noise, car parking, power usage and so on, so you will be expected to adhere to them. Some marinas are quiet and sleepy, while others are more lively and busy.

Do you offer flexible lease agreements?

Most of our mooring licences are issued on an annual basis, though several of our marinas also provide shorter-term mooring options.  Tell us what you’re looking for and we’ll try our best to accommodate you.

Do you own moorings outside of South East England?

Not currently. At Sorbon Estates, our focus is investing in moorings and marinas within the South East of England.
