Sorbon Estates is delighted to announce its support of Trunks across the Thames, the beautiful public art trail raising funds for Thames Hospice, which arrives across Maidenhead and the surrounding area this summer (13th July – 13th September 2026).
As part of the trail, Sorbon Estates has sponsored a large elephant sculpture, Never Forget, which will take pride of place at Waterside Quarter, Maidenhead. The company has also sponsored a mini elephant sculpture decorated by pupils from Beech Lodge School, which will join the mini herd displayed in Maidenhead town centre.
The trail brings together art, community and fundraising, offering residents and visitors the opportunity to discover a collection of uniquely designed elephant sculptures while supporting the vital work of Thames Hospice.
For Sorbon Estates, the project aligns perfectly with its commitment to creating vibrant destinations that bring people together.
The design of Never Forget was selected by Tamra Booth, Consultant at Shanly Group and daughter of Shanly Group founder Michael Shanly. Tamra chose the sculpture because its design complements the recently installed carousel horse sculpture at Waterside Quarter.
Jessica Nicholls, Senior Marketing Manager at Sorbon Estates, said:
“We are incredibly proud to be supporting Trunks across the Thames and the important work of Thames Hospice. The trail is a fantastic initiative that brings together creativity, community and charity, while encouraging people to explore and engage with the local area.
Having our elephant, Never Forget, located at Waterside Quarter is particularly special. We are passionate about creating places where people want to spend time, and public art plays an important role in bringing those spaces to life.
We are also delighted to support Beech Lodge School through our sponsorship of a mini elephant. Seeing young people contribute their creativity to a project that will be enjoyed by the wider community makes the trail even more meaningful.
We look forward to welcoming visitors to Waterside Quarter this summer and seeing the positive impact the trail has across Maidenhead.”
Trunks across the Thames is expected to attract thousands of residents and visitors, creating a memorable experience for families while raising valuable funds for Thames Hospice.
