Sorbon Estates and Shanly Homes ‘Join the Herd’ supporting Trunks Across the Thames

Sorbon Estates and Shanly Homes are pleased to announce their involvement in Trunks Across the Thames, a major Wild in Art public art trail launching this summer in support of Thames Hospice.

Running from 13 July to 13 September 2026, the trail will bring a vibrant herd of artist‑designed elephant sculptures to the streets, parks and public spaces of Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead. The initiative aims to raise vital funds for Thames Hospice while encouraging residents and visitors to explore local landmarks, culture and community spaces through an engaging and accessible art experience.

As long‑term supporters of Thames Hospice, the Shanly Group is proud to contribute to an event that brings together creativity, connection and charitable purpose.

Shanly Homes’ sponsored sculpture, ‘Seasons Change’, will take pride of place in Windsor town centre. Created by acclaimed artist Richard Phipson, the piece draws inspiration from nature’s cycles, celebrating the beauty and rhythm of Berkshire’s changing landscapes.

Toby Parkinson, Sales Director at Shanly Homes, commented:

‘We’re delighted to be involved in the Hospice’s Trunks Across the Thames project. The Shanly Group has been a long-term supporter of the Hospice, and it holds a special place in our hearts. This is a fantastic initiative, it not only raises funds and awareness of the hospice’s excellent work, but brings fun and joy to the local community.’

Sorbon Estates’ sponsored sculpture, ‘Never Forget’, created by artist Katrin Gaska, will be displayed at Waterside Quarter, Maidenhead, where it will join the area’s existing public artworks and further enhance the neighbourhood’s cultural landscape. The design reflects themes of memory, connection and the shared stories that shape communities.

Guy Thomas, Asset and Property Manager at Sorbon Estates, said:

‘We’re pleased to be involved in the Trunks Across the Thames project and contribute pieces of art that celebrate both creativity and community spirit across Windsor and Maidenhead.

‘This trail brings joy, curiosity and creativity to the heart of the Thames region and we’re honoured to be part of it and particularly, to support the important work of Thames Hospice.’

Sorbon Estates looks forward to seeing the trail bring colour, creativity and community engagement to the region, while helping raise essential funds for an organisation that provides outstanding care to local people and their families.
