Just recently the Sorbon Estates team were hard at work helping out at Thames Valley Adventure Playground in Maidenhead. The team swapped their laptops for paintbrushes and got stuck in painting fresh new backdrops as part of the renovation of the playground's pool area.
The day involved seven members of the Sorbon Estates team, from Estate Managers to the company's in-house Solicitor, donating their time to volunteer on-site. Much of the time was dedicated to refreshing the playground's water-play area, creating vibrant seaside scenes, painted onto large panels that will eventually form the backdrop to make the new pool area even more exciting and inviting to the visiting children and adults with special needs.
Thames Valley Adventure Playground is a charity close to Sorbon Estates' heart and has long been supported by Shanly Foundation, the charitable arm of Sorbon's parent company Shanly Group. Well known to locals, TVAP offers a unique range of adventurous, therapeutic and educational play activities in a safe, caring and stimulating environment, catering for children and adults with all types of disability.
Gary Warrington, Playground Manager at Thames Valley Adventure Playground said, "The splash pool is a real staple of the Playground and is enjoyed by most of our visitors, throughout the year. In a world where the choices and life experiences that others take for granted are often denied them, the chance to play in a safe and secure play space is a real lifeline for our visiting families. We can't thank the Sorbon team enough for the continued support and the real difference that generosity and thoughtfulness makes to the lives of so many families with special needs."
Katherine Croom, Managing Director of Sorbon Estates said, "As a local business, it means a lot to Sorbon staff to support a local charity, and everyone was more than willing to give up their time to lend a hand at Thames Valley Adventure Playground. The team thoroughly enjoyed the day and would love to do it again. It was wonderful to get a first-hand look at the facilities that this incredible charity provides, and we hope our efforts to refresh the pool area will raise a few smiles at playtime."
